About Us

Phil Lalonde is a long time soccer coach in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. In the fall of 2021 he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and has since dedicated himself to raising money and awareness to address the physical and social impacts of the disease. With that mission in his heart he launched the Coach Phil Foundation in 2022. Since then, thanks to the support of amazing volunteers and partners, the foundation has raised over $95,000 primarily through its flagship event - the Coach Phil Senior Soccer Tournament to End ALS.

Our mission is to raise funds and awareness in the fight for patient services and a cure for ALS.

The Coach Phil Soccer Tournament to End ALS is being held June 8 and 9, 2024 at Terra Cotta Park in Pointe-Claire, Quebec.

I will not let ALS define me. I will do everything in my power to help find a cure”

— Phil Lalonde, Founder of the Coach Phil Foundation

All funds raised go to the incredible work of ALS Quebec to provide much needed research funding and patient support.
